From the studio Alfred Muma teaches art classes to home schooled children in the local school district, runs a summer gallery which is open from June until September, coordinates the Powell River Studio Tour held every year at the end of August, has guest artists during the tour on the grounds, conducts private art lessons and beginner and beyond beginnner art classes for adults through the Kelly Creek Community School Programs during the school year, one-on-one mentoring, goes out to paint on location using oils and watercolours and makes paintings and prints in the studio. In 2007 Alfred with co-founder Laurie Lee, started the Kelly Creek Summer Arts School. Among Friends Studio was first opened on the Queen Charlotte Islands in 1989 and after relocating to the Sunshine Coast in 1997 reopened in 1999.
Visitors are welcomed during regular summer hours and by appointment the rest of the year.
